Chetan is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering, post graduate in Project Engineering Management from NICMAR, Pune and LL.B. degree holder from Jitendra Chauhan College of Law, Mumbai University. He also obtained a diploma in International Banking & Finance from IIBF, Mumbai.
Chetan has developed a unique practice in Construction Law. He advises clients in corporate litigations, mediation, commercial arbitrations, energy, oil & gas, power, metro, road & highways, infrastructure projects, engineering & construction, employee matters, real estate & property, intellectual property rights, and commercial transactions.
Chetan’s proficiency further encompasses tendering, bidding, commercial risk management, developing agreements such as term sheets, MoU, LOI, inter se agreements, consortium, joint bidding agreements, NDAs, etc. Chetan strives to develop contracts using best contract management practices with an ultimate objective to avoid complex and expensive disputes.
Chetan advises his client on drafting of contractual notices, change orders, EOT & prolongation claims, claim & schedule analysis, insurance claims, change management, amicable settlement, compliance, procurement and other issues arising during contract life cycle.
Before laying down the foundation of Secure Legal, Chetan worked as Principal Associate with MV KINI & Co. He has represented the Indian Navy as Techno-Legal Consultant in arbitration cases and had extensively worked on arbitration matters related to property, real estate, construction claims and disputes for clients including BARC, DAE, BEST, etc.
Chetan has significant experience of working with corporate – Hitachi Rail STS, GE Power, Dodsal E&C, HCC, Essar Projects, Reliance Infrastructure and FLSmidth.
Chetan is an avid learner and likes to challenge the status quo. Chetan has established himself as a successful corporate trainer. He regularly conducts open house workshops for construction industry. In past, he had offered his services to All India Management Association (AIMA) for their flagship Certificate Program in Contractual Dispute Resolution. He has conducted inhouse trainings and workshops in Construction Claims, Disputes Resolution & ADR for Mazgon Dock Shipyard Limited, Metler Toledo (US MNC), Rashtriya Chemical & Fertilizers FLSmidth India.
Until recently, Chetan was a visiting faculty in Symbiosis Centre of Management and Human Resource Development (SCMHRD) since 2013.
